Vivid

I feel the wind flow through my hair
as I hear the rumble of the sea.
The waves are crashing before my eyes,
flowing over and up to me.

There I stood upon the shore,
watching the sun as it began to set.
Knowing the end of the day is near,
awaiting a view, what beholds me next?

Rays of light beam through the clouds
and glimmer across the watery plain.
Glistening colors of orange and gold,
for two sunsets seen are never the same

As the lights begin to fade
and the illustrious colors turn to dark.
Where the grandest of views
has lost all its spark.

Now left in the darkness,
on the cold desolate shore.
Where the most spectacular of sunsets,
appear to me no more.
