My body is worn, I’m not at my best,
a continuous dream keeps stealing my rest.
As the darkness sets in and a view becomes clear,
what I feared most was still very near.
There I stood at the top of the rows,
must have been 50 across and 30 below.
The seats were all red as if stained in blood,
they matched the walls and matched the rugs.
I’ve never seen anything so red,
beyond the blackness, I envisioned the dead.
I could see that no one was there,
with the aura of death, no one would dare.
Wonder what could have happened here?
Wondered what is that dredge such fear?
I turned to run, to find an escape
but the doors were all locked, chained like gates.
I looked around frantically and peered far below,
I saw a faint being, a friend or a foe?
For there it appeared from across the room,
my vision was vague but I knew I was doomed.
And as he made his way up the aisle,
envisioning death, as my fears compiled.
Now he stood in front of me,
his body contour, so muscular and green.
With rage on his face and a stench in his breath,
I know of my fate, I know he brought death.
I’m living the horror and feeling the fright,
trying to awake from this nightmare tonight.
