It was in my room, late at night,
when I awoke, so cold with fright.
I reached to turn the light switch on,
I saw faint lights and heard whispered song.
There were glimmering lights, maybe three,
spirits I think, singing harmony.
The song had many questions why,
I heard in their voices, the sound of cries.
I listened and watched as they moved about,
hoping that soon they ‘d decide to get out.
I dropped to my knees, in disbelief
and prayed their despair, soon be released.
For it was then, I felt a sudden chill,
the voices once heard, now are still.
The lights that glimmered now are gone,
for the gathering of souls, have now moved on.
